-로만 폴란스키의 장편 데뷔작.
- While driving early one morning on their way to a boat outing Andrzej (Leon Niemczyk) and his young somewhat homely wife Krystyna (Jolanta Umecka) nearly run down a Young Boy (Zygmunt Malanowicz) who is hitchhiking. Andrzej initially acts belligerent towards the Young Boy but gives him a ride to the marina. Once there Andrzej asks the Young Boy aboard the boat and the three move out into the still waters of Olszryn, Poland. While spending the day together Andrzej bullies the Young Boy into laboring as a deckhand, while Krystyna slowly transforms into beautiful women. As male egos collide, the Young Boy wants to be taken back to shore but Anrzej refuses and the ship grounds in the shallows. When they get the boat back to deeper water the wind has stopped and the three spend the night quietly but the next day a fight erupts with Andrzej throwing the Young Boy off the boat to drown. When Krystyna confronts Anrdzej he swims ashore unaware that the Young Boy returns to the boat for possible revenge.
-불륜을 인정하는 것과 (거짓) 살인을 인정하는 것 사이.
남편 Andrzej의 관점을 중심적으로 이 영화는 흘러가는 것 같다.
여기에서 아내는 '아름다움', '배신'의 키워드를 보여주는 듯.
- 젊은 청년이 부르주아에 개입하면서 그들에게 혼란을 주는 것은 Teorema를 닮기도 하였다.
개인적으로는 Teorema가 더 흥미로웠다.
- 마지막에 불륜을 고백하는 장면 이후에 "왜 그 깨진 유리조각 위로 뛰어내렸죠?"라고 일상적인? 대화로 돌아가는 장면이 인상깊었다.
**1960년대 영화들을 보면 식자층, 혹은 부르주아의 위선적인 모습에 초점을 맞춘 영화가 많은 것 같다. 전후시기를 겪으면서 그런 것인가...찾아봐야겠다.
**로만 폴란스키가 미성년자 성폭행을 했다는 사실이 영화를 보면서 중간중간에 떠올라서 기분이 게름칙했다.
